Our first-class meeting went great. The high schoolers got a basic rundown of the 3 phases of video production:

Pre-production
– Concept/Idea
– Scripting*
– Storyboarding
– Logistics Planning

Production
– Set up (camera, lighting, audio)
– Shooting* (blocking)
– Footage backup/storage

Post-production
– Import
– Logging
– Editing*
– Graphics (still and motion)
– Special Effects
– Delivery

We broke into groups and began brainstorming for their final project, a 30 second commercial for LHC. The students had a challenging time getting the gears turning, but overall it was a good experience and we will move forward with or without fully conceptualized spots.
